We are proud to present the tenth annual Dave Huffman 5K Memorial Run.  The event is in memory of Dave Huffman who gave so much to the Chanhassen community.

The Course
The fast, scenic course starts at City Center Park and winds its way through the City of Chanhassen.

The course is USATF certified.

Start Time

9:00 AM

Awards, refreshments and continental breakfast following the race.

Parking

Use the parking lots surrounding Chanhassen City Hall. Street parking is also available.

Event Fees

By August 31, 2009 - $20

$50 family rate for first 3 people, $10 for each additional person

After August 31, until race day - $25

Race Day Registration

Packet pickup and race day registration is from 7:15 - 8:30 AM at the City Center Park

Long sleeve, 100% cotton T-shirts will be issued to all participants along with a goodie bag of samples and coupons from local businesses.

Age Divisions

13 and under, 14 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60+ & Wheelchair.

Kids Fun Run

The Kid’s Fun Run is free for all kids ages 4 – 11 years old. The course is ¼ mile for ages 4-7 and ½ mile for ages 8-11. The race begins after the Dave Huffman 5K Race concludes, around 9:45am. In past years, the Minnesota Viking Cheerleaders were at the start and finish of the race to cheer on all the kids. All participants will receive medals and will be eligible for prizes through random drawings.

Directions

From the Metro Area: From I-494 take Hwy 5 west to Chanhassen (approximately 5 miles) to Market Blvd., go north (right) on Market Blvd. to stoplight, go west (left) on 78th St. and north (right) on Kerber Blvd. The park is located to the North of Chanhassen City Hall.

Dave Huffman
A former Chanhassen resident, Dave Huffman was an active member of the community and a Commissioner of the Chanhassen Park & Recreation Committee.  Following his career with the Minnesota Vikings, Huffman was a radio commentator on KFAN and WCCO.  Huffman died in an automobile accident in Illinois in 1998.
